so have you ever read a character's epiphany moment that was such an amazing read that you yourself felt as if you had had the awakening?my heartbeat was wild, i could barely breathe, tears gathering in the corners of my eyes, stomach churning...
the entire series has been amazing. i jokingly said earlier that the story was only one "sleeping beauty" scene away from me seeking intellectual property damages... yeah. that's in this installment as well. and THAT'S not even the moment that rocked my world. the character's epiphany isn't even a surprise to the reader... AND STILL my pulse raced and my jaw clenched.
suffice it to say that i highly recommend The Scientific Method series by Kris Ripper. book 5 roller coasters tipped the scales. amazing.

Will gets a genderqueer boyfriend, Hugh and Truman think about marriage, there’s still a lot of kink, and lots of love.
I can't tell you how many times I said Will's name while reading this. Exclaimed grinning, murmured, whispered, or sighed, the guy is just... Will. Fearful and dauntless, learning and learning and learning, and if you'll excuse me I need the next book.
First, I love the respect this author has for the variations of the lgbtq+ experience. Second, this book made me legitimately cry happy tears, and at the same time feel desperately lonely for Will. What I want for his HEA and what the author plans might not be in alignment especially if Molly comes back. I very much look forward to discovering this family’s HEA.
I love how Davey and Wills relationship was handled. No big reveal to suddenly understand each other. No perfect understanding of each other just by locking eyes. In stead we got imperfect fumblings coupled with tenderness and willingness to talk. It was beautiful how Will did not meet a genderqueer person. Will met Davey, who happens to define as genderqueer. A whole world of difference between those two scenarios!
Still falling more and more in love with the wonderful cast of characters that manages to surprise me and challenge my world view. Love how characters actually talk to each other. Crazy about the mixture of bsdm, sex, love, fun, growth and acceptance. Impressed with the very slow and steady building of the sex; each scene feels like progress and yet nothing spirals out of control.
And the boyfriends – oh my the boyfriends!
This paragraph is more about the term genderqueer and my self discovery than the book itself – just in case you want to skip my ramplings.
I had not met the term Genderqueer prior to this book, so that send me on a bit of a research.
This along with me recently discovering the term Pansexual sort of led me to a bit of a self discovery.
I always considered myself enlightened and open minded. I have no problem with what sexuality people define as – straight, bi or gay. Likewise was aware that some people are trans and some people are confused. Now I really did not mean confused I derogative manor – just that they were still figuring out their gender identity. But my research and getting to know Davey made me realise just how condescending “confused” was. Genderqueer people are not unfinished persons waiting to discover their gender; they just don't confirm to the 'only two gender' dogma. And it none of my business if they are x% female or whether this is primarily a mind or body thing.
So now I suddenly also got why Pansexual was a thing. When I first heard it I was like “yeh – so bisexuel, righ?” But not limiting gender to two genders Pansexual now suddenly makes sense. Pansexual means you find all genders attractive – including genderqueer and trans.
So I want to thank Kris for writing such an endearing genderqueer character helping me to open my eyes to the diversity of this world.
*****SPOILER!****** I like that this was just a relationship that moved both Davey and Will forward. I did not need HEA for them. I would however hope that we might catch up on Davey in a later instalment – please?
Disclaimer; I pretty much devoured A Scientific Method Story Book 1-9 back to back. So for this review I am trying to remember this book on its own – even if it is pretty much all one long story to me.
